WELCOME, AUTHORS!

The North Miami Beach Public Library is delighted to support local authors of all ages, genres, and places on their publishing journeys! Whether you have published works you'd love to share with the community or are just getting started and need to know how to find an agent or design a cover, the Library has resources that can help.

If you would like to hold an author event such as a book talk, book signing, or related program, please fill out the Local Author Submission Form and submit a copy of your book here at the Library to let us know what you have in mind. We love to highlight and encourage our local writers and artists!

Author & Publication Tools

Pressbooks is your one-stop shop for self-publishing! Everything from editing to layout to covers to creating a full book, ready for print - Pressbooks provides easy tools, and you provide the creativity! Once you've created your book, it's ready for online publishing, printing, and sharing with everyone from friends and family to agents and publishers. Stop waiting to share that masterpiece with the world!

If you're hoping to get your book out to a larger audience, the Indie Author Project might just be for you! Make your book available to the Library's online community, and it will be shared with readers all across the state, as well as automatically entered to be considered for highlighting by outlets such as the Library Journal!
Want to see your book available for checkout at the Library? We'd love to see it! You can donate us a copy by dropping by the Library any time and telling the friendly front desk staff that you are a local author and would like your book considered for inclusion. A Librarian will reach back out to you about whether your book can be added. The Library can only accept physical books, not ebooks, at this time. (See our Donations policy for more information!)
